Back Story
I would not consider my life spectacular or crazy. I do not have (in my opinion) an awe-inspiring testimony nor am I really adventurous and travel the globe. However, I have a personal relationship with God the Father. My best friend is Holy Spirit and I call Jesus My Lord and Saviour. Knowing the Godhead, reading the Word and being led by the promptings of the Holy Spirit has been the greatest, most spectacular and awe-inspiring relationship of my life. I continue to seek and press into God wanting to know more of Him, what is on His Heart and who He is on a personal level, like a child and their Heavenly Father.
Setting the Stage
In recent decades, I believe we have all felt a growing divide. Slowly, in little steps, our nation has fallen asleep in apathy. Churches have settled and grown comfortable in their usual routine of Sunday service. As years have passed, political correctness entered our vocabulary. The rise of technology, social media and “mainstream” have become the go-to. All the while, hidden dark agendas have been plotted and executed. This divide became so evident when Canadians voted in the 2015 election. It was declared that Justin Trudeau was our new Prime Minister. His campaign simply founded on making marijuana legal, unlimited immigration, and “nice hair”. This divide and polarization was pushed to the extreme when President Donald Trump was elected in the year 2016. We entered a new era, not just politically but spiritually. It wasn’t until 2020 with the exaggerated COVID-19 “pandemic” that people everywhere were shaken.
I witnessed and experienced like so many other Canadians this George Orwellian nightmare. Businesses closed, livelihoods halted, people’s smiles covered with face-gags, being distanced from one another and this overwhelming fog of fear. It was madness! Churches closed down, many Canadians lost their hope and so much more. The so-called government began flexing its draconian muscles in an attempt to sabotage this nation and its first target was the Church. You cannot have communism when you have Christians who can call to their Heavenly Father in faith.
While many people like to write off 2020 as the worst year, I would beg to differ. Where sin abounds Grace does much more abound. There is nothing quite like opposition to shake you up and wake you from a sleep of complacency. I have never before pressed into God as I did in 2020. Like so many people, we wanted hope, someone to save us and tell us this was not going to be the new normal. The year 2020 was a year of Great Pressing. The Devil and all his cohorts were rearing their heads in ugly and deceitful ways. Everywhere you turned there was fear, anger and hopelessness. It was so confusing. I am thankful though for being founded on the Rock. I sought God out. What was He saying through all this? What were His plans? Was Canada a lost cause? As I pressed in, I got revelation and insight. I received peace and new understanding of His Word. I have grown so close to God and am so excited for what He has in store for Canada!
Oh, Canada Where Art Thou?
As Canadians, we tend to rely on our older sibling the United States. We know more about American politics than our own! For centuries, we grew up with the United States as our biggest influence. In laws, politics and even when it came to God’s outpourings and revival. We have relied on America so much but this was not always the case. Canada is its own nation. It has her own citizens. Her own flag. However, most importantly, it is a nation that was born out of the promises of God.
On July 1st, 1867 our Fathers of Confederation signed the British North America Act. They were inspired by Psalms 72: 8 which reads, “He (God) shall have dominion also, from sea to sea, from the river unto the ends of the earth”. They believed that Canada would be a nation that was God’s dominion. This is not some fairy-tale. This is Canada’s true history.
Enter: Stage Right- New Revelation
I have realized that I was never a real patriot of Canada. Canadians have grown weak in the sense that we have compromised our values in thinking the opinions of man are more important than God’s. That is why we’re always apologizing for everything, even when our convictions tell us otherwise. I have been critical of Canada. I was never excited about Canadian history because I always found it dull, boring and uneventful even though I love history! Yet, due to the effects of the COVID pandemic, I saw my nation begin to crumble from the inside. I woke up and saw what was happening to her and to say the least it was heartbreaking.
Through the leadings and teachings of the Holy Spirit I know God has great plans for Canada in the future. She is not a nation that is a lost cause. Her history is beautiful, exciting and truly remarkable. He has shown me Canada through His eyes and now I see my nation like I never have before. I see through a lens of appreciation, thankfulness and humility. While the United States is our important ally and sibling it’s time we as Canadians rise up on our own and rely on God.
My Part to Play
Since the beginning of 2021, God has given me prophetic words, words of encouragement and different revelations with regards to Canada. I simply asked the Father that I wanted to know what was on His Heart. As much as I appreciate the American evangelists and prophets, I wanted to know for myself what God had in store for Canada. He is a wonderful God and he has showed me so much. I shared a little with close family but that was all. If I had it my way, I would just keep it between the Lord and I. However, one day He told me, “Kiddo, what good is it for me to tell you these things if you’re just going to hide it. Where is your lampstand?” I realized that all this time I was being encouraged, I was getting excited but what about the many Canadians looking for encouragement and hope? So, I created this blog because I felt the Holy Spirit prompt me to do so. I do not do this of my will but because He asked me to. I encourage you to not take everything at my word. Just as the Apostle John said, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit [speaking through a self-proclaimed prophet]; instead test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets and teachers have gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1 AMP). The Word of God is our foundation and everything that is Truth must be in agreement with it. Please pray, test the spirits and ask God to show, reaffirm or confirm things to you. I am simply a secretary taking dictations of the Holy Spirit. If something unsettles you I urge you to pray and ask Him for understanding. I do not take this lightly and I recognize that I am only human, I can err. I also know that Jesus says, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27 KJV). I am simply hearing and following the Father.
So, I hope this blog and all the content in it helps to encourage and embolden you so that we can continue to embody the wonderful Father’s love and fulfill our God-given destinies.
