The Lord had be look up some of the provinces names and their meanings:

 

NewFoundland and Labrador: King Henry VII of England referred to the land discovered by John Cabot in 1497 as the “New Found Launde.”  It’s likely that the name Labrador came from Joas Fernandez, the Azorean known as “El llavorador”, an explorer on the Corte-Real’s expedition in 1500. The area of Labrador includes all the northern islands in the region. The province officially became Newfoundland and Labrador in December 2001 when an amendment was made to the Constitution of Canada.

 

Meaning and Origins of Labrador: There are many theories as to the origins of the word “Labrador”. One,it may be a reference to the name of “landholder” and is a reference to 15th century Portugeuse explorer João Fernandes, called Llavrador, who was a landholder in the Azores and had sailed as far as Iceland and Greenland. Or another theory according to W.F. Ganong , is that "it was originally 'Terra Laboratoris,' land of the laborer because Cortereal brought fifty men thence to Europe, who were described as well fitted for slaves. This is sustained by all the evidence of old maps." Gasper Cortereal was a Portuguese navigator who explored the coast for the Portuguese crown in 1500 and brought home captives. Nova Scotia: Nova Scotia is Latin for “New Scotland”. The province was named by Sir William Alexander who was given the land by King James VI of Scotland in 1621. Prior to its official naming, the First Nations knew it as “Mi’kma’ki”, the French called it “Acadia”, and the British were already familiar with calling the land “New Scotland”.

 

Meaning and Origins of Mi’kma’ki: Also Mi’kmaq refers to the First Nations people who were some of the first to reside in the Atlantic provinces. The etymology of the term “Mi’kmaq” varies amongst scholars. Mi’kmaq may translate roughly to mean “Red Earth People, or People of the Red Earth”. Others suggest its origin in nigumaach, which means "my brother" or "my friend", or a term of endearment. (Refer to Marion Robertson’s book Red Earth: Tales of the Mi'kmaq 1960s)

 

Meaning and Origins of Acadia: The origin of the designation Acadia is credited to the explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano, who on his 16th century map applied the ancient Greek name "Arcadia" to the entire Atlantic coast north of Virginia (note the inclusion of the 'r' of the original Greek name). "Arcadia" derives from the Arcadia district in Greece which since Classical antiquity had the extended meanings of "refuge" or "idyllic place". The Dictionary of Canadian Biography says: "Arcadia, the name Verrazzano gave to Maryland or Virginia 'on account of the beauty of the trees,' made its first cartographical appearance in the 1548 Gastaldo map and is the only name on that map to survive in Canadian usage. . . . In the 17th century Champlain fixed its present orthography, with the 'r' omitted, and Ganong has shown its gradual progress northeastwards, in a succession of maps, to its resting place in the Atlantic Provinces." New Brunswick: This province was originally included in the area that made up Nova Scotia. It was later separated and established as a province in 1784. The name “New Brunswick” was given to the area in honour of King George III who also held the title of Duke of Brunswick, an area in Germany.

 

Meaning and Origins of Brunswick: A reference to "town and former imperial province of northern Germany. It is the Anglicization of German Braunschweig which literally means "Bruno's settlement”. Together you have Bruno + the Old Saxon wik which means "village," which is from Latin. Bruno: is a masculine proper name, from Old High German Bruno, literally "brown". Prince Edward Island: The province’s earliest documented name was “Abeqweit” which was given to the area by the Mi’kmaq and meant “cradled in the waves”. It later became Ile Saint-Jean which was used by the original French settlers, the Acadians. After the Treaty of Paris ceded the island to the British in 1763, it was renamed St. John’s Island. In 1799 the English declared that the island would be called Prince Edward Island in honour of the Duke of Kent and Strathearn, Prince Edward.

 

Meaning and Origins of Edward: Edward is an English given name. It is derived from Old English words ead, meaning 'wealth', 'fortune' or 'prosperous' and wear, meaning 'guardian' or 'protector'.

 

Quebec: The name “Quebec” comes from the Algonquin word for “narrow passage” or “strait”. It was first used to describe the narrowing of the St. Lawrence River near what is now the City of Québec. Quebec has had several names throughout its history: Canada, New France, Lower Canada and Canada East. 

 

Ontario: Iroquois word “kanadario” which translates to “sparkling” water. Earliest recording of the name Ontario was in 1641. Can also mean “beautiful lake”, “beautiful water” after all there are over 250,000 lakes in Ontario.

 

Manitoba: Believed to have originated from the Cree term “Man-into-wahpoaw”, meaning “the narrows of the Great Spirit”. Describes Lake Manitoba and how it narrows significantly at the center.

 

Saskatchewan: Cree name for the Saskatchewan River, “kisiskatchewonisipi” or “swift-flowing river”.

 

Alberta: This province was named after Queen Victoria’s fourth daughter, Princess Louise Caroline Alberta. Alberta was originally established as a provisional district of the North West Territories in 1882. The name was maintained when Alberta officially became a province in 1905. From Old German Adalbert meaning “noble” and “bright” or “intelligent” and “noble”.

 

British Columbia: The southern part of the area now known as British Columbia was called “Columbia”, after the Columbia River. The central region was given the name of “New Caledonia” by explorer Simon Fraser. To avoid confusion with Colombia in South America and the island of New Caledonia in the Pacific Ocean, Queen Victoria named the area British Columbia when it became a colony in 1858.

 

Meaning and Origin of Columbia: Columbia is often a reference to the poetic name for the United States of America and earlier British colonies around the 1730’s. Columbia derives from Christopher Columbus, the Italian explorer who accidentally discovered the Americas. His native Italian name Cristoforo Colombo or in Spanish Cristóbal Colón. The Colombo or Colón are popular surnames and they translate to “dove”. The surname reflects that of an occupation of someone who raised and sold  doves. Nunavut: In the Inuit language of Inuktitut, Nunavut means “our land”. Nunavut became Canada’s third territory when it was officially separated from the Northwest Territories in 1999.

 

Northwest Territories: Prior to 1870, it was known as the North-Western Territory. The name has always been a description of the location of the territory.

 

Yukon: The territory’s name probably comes from the word “Yu-kun-ah” meaning “great river.” In 1846, chief trader John Bell of the Hudson’s Bay Company canoed down the Porcupine River to where it meets the Yukon River. There, he met natives who told him that the name of the big river was the “youcon”. It was named “Yukon Territory” in 1898, and became “Yukon” under the Yukon Act in 2003.

The Word of the Lord as received: 

To My nation Canada, My loyal and unwavering people. I say to you, be of good cheer! For I, El-Shaddai, have overcome the world. I have come to carry this nation into a new season, into a New Age and into a New Beginning. Much has been accomplished, much will continue to unravel but I say to My Children, My Little Ones, do not lose hope. Do not grow faint or weary. I say to you, lay and rest your heads on My Lap. Lay your cares and burdens on Me. For I go before you all and make your paths straight. I urge you all for the next little while to turn off the TV, stay-off the phones and reconnect with Me. Tune into Me. Enough looking, enough searching, turn off the distractions and come. Come and know Me better Children. Come and sit with Me, come and be near Me.

Ask Me to take a drive with you. Ask Me to sit and have lunch with you. Ask Me and I will be there. For My Children are weary and battle-worn or distracted into nervous and shaky warriors. I AM calling a time-out and commissioning all of you to set the newspaper down, turn off the devices and open the Bible. Chat with Me, get to Who I AM. For I say to you, there are many who know of Me but they do not know Me. So, I tell you to come and know Me better. Come and bask in My Presence. Let Me be the Father that I AM towards you. For you are precious to Me. You are the apple of My Eye and I want nothing more than to spend time with My Children.

They have begun a great commission and investigation but little do they know that I have taken My Seat over such matters. I will get to the bottom of it! I will reveal the hidden dealings and lies and I will rectify and elevate the Convoy, My pole-bearers. With the snap of My Fingers I will call in ALL the mountains of evidence they have tried to hide. Oh, they will try to cover, lie and grease wheels but it shall fail.

Trudeau, the clock has struck and your time is up. You will be escorted off the premises and you, along with all of your cronies of circus actors will be removed. I shall not have to lift a finger. I will simply point to the trail of breadcrumbs that you so arrogantly have left for all to see. Your pride and arrogance has so blinded you. It shall be the only thing left to your name if you and your followers do not repent now. 

Alberta the province of the ram. You have toiled and wandered into the dry places for so long. Watch and be wary of whose voice you follow. For you have been led astray into a mud pit and you have struggled and strived of your own accord only to sink deeper and deeper into the mud. The mud clings to you. It covers your white coat. You snort, kick and struggle in a panic sinking lower and lower into despair. In your struggle one of your horns has cracked. If you continue to move recklessly and violently this horn shall break. 

I say to you Alberta, a kingdom divided against itself shall not stand. The same goes with a province.

How will a ram defend itself against another with one horn. Surely, the one with two who is strong and not tired shall lock heads with you and turn you over only to trample you. 

But I say to you, My Alberta, stop struggling and striving of your own accord. Still yourself and call out to Me. I AM the Good Shepherd and I have come. I will wade through the muck and mire. I will go down to the cesspit and I will pull you out but you cannot keep violently moving and thrashing. Through humility and still hearts I can come and pull you out. I will wash over you, mighty ram. Your coat will be as white as snow and I will set you back in your rightful place. For where should a mountain goat go but on the highest peak of a mountain? Yes, I shall set you on high, to see from a high vantage point and then you shall thrive. I will be with you but be wary of whose voice you follow. 

Ontario, the place of sparkling and beautiful waters, who has so congested you? Who has backlogged and stifled the rivers that should flow mighty and strong? I say to you WAKE UP! I AM waking up these sleeping people who have been blind and deaf to goodness and My Ways! I say to you, AWAKE, OH WATERS! AWAKE, OH ONTARIO! Enough playing in the muck and mire! Enough mud-slinging, backbiting and rebuking. I AM cleaning up and sifting through these muddy waters. I AM WAKING YOU UP!

I have exposed you time and time again. I have shown you what they are doing to the children, your children, these precious Little Ones. It is time to stand on guard for them! Yes! Parents this is no time to be silent or to cower and hide. This is no time to turn a blind eye. For the enemy has set his sights on the Little Ones and tries to cause offense by stealing their innocence and enslaving them to perversity. INNOCENCE IS OF THE KINGDOM! I VALUE IT AS I DO RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HOLINESS! DO NOT LET THEM OFFEND YOUR LITTLE ONES! DO NOT! DO NOT! DO NOT! 

Parents, I have shown you their devious plans. I have exposed and set off the alarm bells. Now it is the time to act. Now is the time to speak! Faith without action is dead. So I AM calling upon the parents to stand, to speak, to vote, to write and to do what is right. Not for your sakes but for the Little Ones! 

I have fractured the school system and I AM breaking them down. I shall grind up their schemes so they are no more than dust. A dust to be carried off by the Wind. Parents do not stand idly by. You know Me by My Voice and another you will not follow. So I say to you, follow Me and I will guide you. For My Rod and Staff shall comfort you.

To the Eastern provinces. My Royal islands and land near the ocean. You have been a ship lost out at sea. The storm has come upon you unexpectedly. The waters rage and winds blow tossing you about.The ship appears to be sinking, lost and damaged. But I have come and I have spoken to the waves and the wind and they obey. I say to the storm, Peace, be still!

You, oh Eastern provinces, have severed the link in the chain that tied you to the anchor, the anchor of Hope. The anchor of MY Son in Whom I AM well pleased. Your ship was then enticed to come out to sea and as you ventured further and further you could no longer see land or the lighthouse. Then a storm came upon you and beat on the ship violently. Some of the passengers cried out to Me and I heeded the call. Now I have come to call in the ship . I have come to call you back into your rightful place and home.

Many have been lost out at sea. Many thought it best to sever the link and wander away but lo, it has not been well for you. So, We have come to tether you to Us again. We put out a call for you. Heaven’s Coast Guard has locked you in and we are coming in for a rescue operation. We shall tether you to our boat and tug you back to shore. We shall repair and restore any damages that were caused and we will make you new. We have heard the distress call and we have come to save you. Holy Spirit is excited and shall blow fresh Wind in your sails. With Him at your back and Me at the helm and My Son the anchor, there shall be no wave strong enough, no wave big enough and no wave fierce enough to overcome the ship.

For My Eastern provinces are dear to Me. They are a Royal People with hearts calling out to Me. The harvest is ripe and the reapers are being called in.

There is much talk, grumbling and griping amongst the people. They are beyond restless as they toil only for their rewards to be stolen. The people are seething, hurting, and are ready to lash out. Violence fills their thoughts while resentment coaches them. The fear of not enough haunts them all-the-day long. The people are hurting. They have been bruised, battered and beaten but in such direness the Hope of Glory arises. For in their distress I extend My Hand to them. In their brokenness I want to move. And I shall move upon the people through My Kingdom Carriers! 

There has been much evil in My Sight. These evil ones continue to blaspheme My Name and lie to the people. They say the earth, MY EARTH, is not sustainable. But in Truth it is not sustainable for them. In their sin and evil, the Earth will not respond but instead curse. It will not yield, it will not move and it is cut off from them.

MY EARTH IS MORE THAN SUSTAINABLE! MY EARTH IS MORE THAN ABLE! For I AM calling in another boom. I AM calling in another influx of babies to be born. The enemy so hates precious new lives to be born and so he schemes and scurries around trying to devour but it shall not work. I say to the young women and the older, widen your tents, prepare the nursery for children. MANY, MANY children are coming to this Earth. To the barren ones, the ones who have struggled and the ones who have lost Hope. I say to you, your wombs shall be restored and made open. By the Power of the Living God, El-Shaddai, I break infertility, barrenness and any afflictions upon you and your family! In the Mighty Name of Yeshua, Salvation is here! Prepare! Prepare! For Heaven stirs with excitement as another Baby Boom approaches.

Through My Children, through My Glory, the Earth shall yield. It will prosper. It will bless and yield much. I have visited many in the night. I have shared ideas, formulas, inventions and new resources. This Earth has many secrets and many shall be revealed but I AM making it so that it will be shared and benefitted by ALL and not a few! 

My People rejoice! Rejoice for you have the victory! You have been saved and I AM restoring to you all that was lost. Do not worry. Do not be afraid. Ask for courage and boldness. Ask to spend time with Me. For the time is coming shortly where it will be all hands on deck.

Blessed is the Lord God over Heaven and Earth. Blessed is He Who extends His Hand and lifts us up on high. We call on you. We rest in you. Father, lead us to still waters and green pastures. Father, show us the way to Your Heart.

Let The Fall Games Begin!

For thus says the Lord, your God Elohim:

I AM taking My Seat on the throne of Judgment this day. I AM seating Myself in each nation to weigh, measure and judge. For My servants have pleaded and yielded permission. So, I shall move, so I have moved and so I shall continue to move BIGGER than ever before! GREATER than what has been done before! I AM declaring this day, through the Heavens and to the Earth, Let the Fall Games Begin! 

There is much griping and complaining amongst My Children. There is much division and despising those who share My Words. I say to you, “ My Children, SMARTEN UP!” The time has come to grow up! The milk you have suckled on has been plenty. It is time to grow up and be men and women of God!

I hear their thoughts. I know their ponderings. Their words go out and say vain and useless things. They fawn and faint in fear. They try to construct bunkers and underground walls to hide in. Meanwhile, they sit in darkness, and in fear and seat themselves in judgment even though they sit low in the ground and hide.

I have said before, can a light be seen shining when it is hidden and without it’s lampstand? (refer to Matthew 5:15) No! Do not hide your light. Do not cower in fear! Do not WAIT it out!

I ask you, Little Children, AM I WEAK? AM I A FOOL? CAN I BE TAKEN BY SURPRISE? You say, “No! Of course not!” but then why would I want My Church! MY CHURCH! The extension of WHO I AM to be that way! Let it not be so!

Gird up your loins! Take time and spend it with Me. I will tell you, I will share with each and everyone of you My plans and purposes for I have called you My friends.

Now I say to you, Oh Canada! There are dark days ahead. But where My Children are there I AM in the midst of them surrounding them in Light. For the Light that has gone before you and has overcome the darkness lives in you! Therefore, you shall not cower or faint in darkness. No! You shall shine brighter than anything this world has ever seen! Amen and so be it.

For we have entered a new time and season, Canada. We have entered the time of the Fall. I say to you, Oh Canada, and I have said this before, this nation shall change just as the maple leaf changes, leaves of red, orange and gold shall spot this nation until it is aflame with FIRE and washed away with WATER. You shall emerge anew. A new maple tree, seated in My Holy water and yielding fruits to the nations. Amen.

Oh Trudeau, how the people are enraged with you! There is nothing you can do that will ever put you back in their “good graces”. Not even your blood money. You, oh Trudeau, shall be “easy-come, easy-go”. Ha, ha! For you easily came into power unrighteously and you will easily go with a whole lot more. For the puppet strings run far and wide and tether you all into one tangled mess that you and your cronies cannot get out of. 

You are falling. The circus act you have been playing at is in shambles. The tightrope you “balanced on” shall not “balance itself” for I have cut the tethers and the safety net of your “friends”, well… we both know their decision was made on you. YOU SHALL FALL. You and all your parading clowns, bearded ladies, jugglers and magicians. A-tumbling they will go!

Canada, Oh Canada! I have not forsaken this nation. I have not left My Children. I would never forsake those whom I love. I say to you we are on the airplane. We are on the airplane but a storm is coming. We have persevered through turbulence but a storm is coming. There has been much wrangling and rivalry as to WHO drives the plane. My Children know My Voice and another they will not follow. They have buckled themselves in and I have gone forward into the cockpit along with Holy Spirit. We have announced warning after warning, “Please fasten your seatbelts. Please fasten your seatbelts. PLEASE FASTEN YOUR SEATBELTS!” 

My Children have buckled themselves in. They have also helped others, as well, but we are entering a new sphere and it will shake the plane. Many will fall from their seats. There will be much screaming and shouting. The lights will flicker on and off and as they say, “all hell will break loose”. Those not fastened in will panic. There will be crying, wailing and grinding of teeth. Chaos shall erupt as the plane shakes, rattles and reverses. Yes! The plane shall reverse! For I AM reversing their evil and wicked ways!

As we reverse to flip there are those in their own fear and self-preservation that shall scramble. They will jump from the plane believing their parachutes of their own-making shall save them but they will fall to their own demise.

Others will scramble trying to get back in their seats and many will roll on the floor or try to regain balance but they cannot. They cannot make sense of the disarray. But My Children will be cheerful and watch in awe. They know who drives the plane; so they stay fastened in their rightful seats. They will call on the stewardesses and flight attendants for more peanuts, snacks and drinks. They will watch all that goes before them giggling and laughing. 

Those in a panic trying to get to their seats will look in astonishment and call out for help which will be given to them. My Children will reach out their hands, put those who were lost back into their seats and help them to fasten themselves in. They will share their snacks of crackers and juice. They will show those who were lost who the pilots are.

Many will find their seats. Many will be saved and once the plane flips the storm will have lost it’s power and be no more. The system will have changed. The currents, jet streams, everything that fuelled it will have changed and the plane will continue to fly higher and higher to new heights!

God Bless the Mighty followers of God! God Bless this nation! We have been saved by His Mighty Hand! Though we were lost we are now found! Glory and Glory forever and ever be unto our great and righteous God. You steer us and guide us out of the dark places. WE ARE SAVED! WE ARE A NATION UNDER GOD!

 Amen and so be it!

Heavenly Father, we concede to Your Plans and Purposes. We ask of You as Your Children to fill us MORE with Your Spirit. We ask for more revelation, wisdom, council, peace and anything we may need to prepare us for the time ahead.

We ask of You, Father, show us how to fasten ourselves closer to You. Give us boldness and courage for the days to come. We call on You to give us a new song. Give us a new song to sing while we are on the plane. Father, You are good, merciful and You care for us.   

We ask for more of You. And if there is anything that hinders and holds us back, we ask that You show us, heal our hearts and remove it in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen.

A Holy Audit

Tory! Tory! You are not in the least a tory and you are far from conservative! For the Lord God, over this nation Canada, says to you, Tory, yes, I AM is speaking to you John Tory, I AM shifting the positions of power. I AM creating a shift in the positions of authority across this land and in your provinces, Oh Canada! Ha, ha! Oh yes! For I say to you John Tory, I shall make you step down like a dog, that is undisciplined, I shall MAKE YOU HEEL. For that is what you are, little Tory, a dirty dog always trying to dig up the scraps left by your masters.

Oh! I AM breaking their controlling hold on you and so many others. I AM bringing all these mayors, city councillors, members of parliament, city officials and the whole stinking lot of bureaucracy down to its knees. Oh yes! For I the Lord God AM not pleased and I have had enough of these low-lying and leeching bureaucrats that feed off the Canadian people. I say,  NO MORE! IT SHALL BE TIME FOR THEM TO TURN TAIL AND RUN! For I AM running a holy audit. I AM weighing in with Justice on those who have worked honestly and those that have stolen and leeched off the system! NO MORE!

This is the time for the lay-offs, down-sizing and firings! But do not worry, Oh Canada, do not be afraid or disgruntled, for all will be well with you. There are those who have worked diligently and honestly and in true goodness and blessing shall be their reward! Amen.

But I see these cockroaches! I see these lazy men and women who play the harlot. I know how they have abused the rule of My Law and they have stolen. Stolen time, money, resources and all at the expense of the people, MY PEOPLE!

That is why I say to you, My Children. Call in a Holy Audit. Call for a holy investigation and I shall come. I shall sweep into every tiny community and large metropolitan and I will thoroughly search the hearts’ of men, records, and their dealings. I will make them stand trial! I will call them out and they will HEEL TO MY WORDS! So I say to you kings and priests call out their deeds, declare and invite Me to weigh in and deal justice! For you are ambassadors of your own nation and you can call on Me for Heaven’s Aid. We will move for you! Amen.

But lo, your city officials, Canada, they stink and wreak of nepotism, robbery, theft and greed! Oh, how they have done wickedness in My Sight! Oh, how they think they own the cities. But woe to them for I AM bringing them down low and I shall remove many. These mayors, city councillors, ministers, board members and members of your government they ARE NOT QUALIFIED IN MY SIGHT! THEY ARE NOT LEGAL BY YOUR LAWS! Many have stolen, STOLEN  SEATS OF AUTHORITY BUT IT SHALL NOT STAND!

For I AM shaking the dais on which their thrones stand. I AM shaking them on each corner and I shall break each corner one by one. The dais shall collapse and the thrones tumble and fall so that they are brought to their hands and knees before the people. An equal footing for I AM leveling their propped up positions and I AM dismantling their canopies of division and cover. All will be shown for what they are but I say to you! Speak and do not hold back! Do not be silent!

John Tory, Jyoti Gondek, Jim Watson and mayors of the like, I AM meeting you face to face. I AM calling you out for abuse of power, mistreatment, greed and MISCONDUCT! You have abused your positions of authority and with such abuse you have called in the derision of the people. So, I say to you, My Children, will you let them stand? Shall they stay? No!

Call It Out And Decree:

Heavenly Father we come before your Holy Throne, we come to you through the Blood sacrifice of our Lord Jesus and it warrants us holy and righteous in Your Sight. As ambassadors of this nation, Canada and as an ambassador of the province of  “name your province”, we humbly submit a petition to your Courts of Heaven and we lay before You the case of the abuse of power and mistreatment of our city officials, unions, and governing bodies. 

Father, forgive us for our silence and lack of involvement. We thank you for opening our eyes and revealing to us the importance of being involved. So we ask this day to involve you, Heavenly Father, to audit, investigate, expose and weigh judgment on our “name you city or town”  and its officials and ruling bodies of authority. We open up and invite you, Heavenly Father, to rule and weigh on the corruption that has seeped into our “name your city or town”. We plead as an ambassador that Truth, Righteousness and YOUR RULE OF LAW be upheld in “name your city or town”. 

We do not accept, nor tolerate evil, darkness, greed, theft, lies and dishonour to continue anymore in JESUS' NAME! We decree and declare this day that the spirits of darkness in “name your city or town” are bound and must leave in JESUS' NAME. We thank you that we have power over ALL THE POWER OF THE ENEMY AND WE SEND FORTH YOUR  Heavenly Host to destroy and nullify the enemy’s encampments in “name your city or town”. We also abort ALL plans set or to be set in motion in “name your city or town” in JESUS' NAME! We break the power of darkness over “name your city or town”! We also declare that you, Oh God, righteously weigh in and rule on the corruption that has been built in “name your city or town”. We do not tolerate it! And we call in your Holy Fire! We call in your Spirit of Glory and we invite your majesty and presence here, Oh God, in “name your city or town”.  

Heavenly Father, we thank You that you hear our prayers! We thank You that you are a Just and Righteous Judge and we ask you to weigh in righteously over us, over our cities and towns and over our nation, Canada!

Glory and honour be to You and You only, Oh Lord! Glory and honour to the One, True, Living God who is and is to come! Amen. 

Jeremiah 2:12 kept coming to me repeatedly and has for several weeks but despite me reading it I found I could not make sense of its relevance and yet, I knew there was something important to it that the Lord was trying to show me. So, I read the whole of chapter one and two. The Holy Spirit pointed out to me especially verses 12 and 13. There is special significance to what Jeremiah has prophesied here about Israel and her condition and it also relates to the condition of Canada. Here is a copy of Jeremiah Chapter Two for your own reading:

Jeremiah Chapter 2 (KJV):

2 Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

2 Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the Lord; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

3 Israel was holiness unto the Lord, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the Lord.

4 Hear ye the word of the Lord, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:

5 Thus saith the Lord, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?

6 Neither said they, Where is the Lord that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?

7 And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.

8 The priests said not, Where is the Lord? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.

9 Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the Lord, and with your children's children will I plead.

10 For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing.

11 Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.

12 Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the Lord.

13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

14 Is Israel a servant? is he a homeborn slave? why is he spoiled?

15 The young lions roared upon him, and yelled, and they made his land waste: his cities are burned without inhabitant.

16 Also the children of Noph and Tahapanes have broken the crown of thy head.

17 Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the Lord thy God, when he led thee by the way?

18 And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river?

19 Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the Lord thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord God of hosts.

20 For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.

21 Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?

22 For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord God.

23 How canst thou say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways;

24 A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her.

25 Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go.

26 As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets.

27 Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.

28 But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.

29 Wherefore will ye plead with me? ye all have transgressed against me, saith the Lord.

30 In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.

31 O generation, see ye the word of the Lord. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee?

32 Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.

33 Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? therefore hast thou also taught the wicked ones thy ways.

34 Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these.

35 Yet thou sayest, Because I am innocent, surely his anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will plead with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned.

36 Why gaddest thou about so much to change thy way? thou also shalt be ashamed of Egypt, as thou wast ashamed of Assyria.

37 Yea, thou shalt go forth from him, and thine hands upon thine head: for the Lord hath rejected thy confidences, and thou shalt not prosper in them.

After reading the whole of chapter two, I wanted to further investigate what “cistern” meant. So I researched it and found this little synopsis from Easton’s Bible Dictionary which you can view entirely here.

Cistern Definition as Defined by Easton's Bible Dictionary:

The rendering of a Hebrew word bor, which means a receptacle for water conveyed to it; distinguished from beer, which denotes a place where water rises on the spot (Jeremiah 2:13; Proverbs 5:15; Isaiah 36:16), a fountain. Cisterns are frequently mentioned in Scripture. The scarcity of springs in Palestine made it necessary to collect rain-water in reservoirs and cisterns (Numbers 21:22).

Empty cisterns were sometimes used as a prison (Jeremiah 38:6; Lamentations 3:53; Psalms 40:2; 69:15). The "pit" into which Joseph was cast (Genesis 37:24) was a beer or dry well. There are numerous remains of ancient cisterns in all parts of Palestine.
